Worship / service style

Our style of service would be labelled 'traditional'. We still use hymnbooks and sing from them while being accompanied on the organ - even though the words are up on the screen. The choir usually sings an introit as well as an anthem. which is followed by a soloist. The songs are always based on and complementary to the Scriptures and the Sermon. Scriptures are usually (though not always) based on one of the lectionary scriptures and are followed by the speaker saying "The Word of the Lord" to which the congregation responds, "Thanks be to God."
